Background

Dr. Rotter is a New York State licensed psychologist with over 30 years of experience practicing psychotherapy. She has been in private practice seeing individual adults and late adolescents, couples and parents since 1990.

She holds an undergraduate degree from Brown University and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.  Dr. Rotter earned her Ph.D. with distinction in Clinical Psychology and received the Jeffrey Sage Memorial Award for excellence in Clinical Psychology.

Her training includes two clinical post-doctoral training fellowships Cornell-Westchester Division of New York Hospital and at North Shore University Hospital as well as a research internship at the National Institute of Mental Health. In addition Dr. Rotter was an Adjunct Professor in Developmental Psychology at New York University and has been a longstanding Adjunct Clinical Supervisor for Clinical Doctoral Candidates at Yeshiva University. Dr. Rotter’s private practice is in White Plains, New York. Dr. Rotter is a founding member of the New York Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and is a member of the American Psychological Association.
